"Clemens Heller" Programme of Research Stipends for Young French Scholars in Germany
The Fondation des Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (MSH) is a public institution dedicated to the support of innovative and interdisciplinary research in the arts and social sciences. It makes available to French and foreign researchers and research groups infrastructural aids and other services (including one of the foremost social science research libraries in France).
The MSH is a European platform for international scholarly and scientific cooperation. Together with and partly at the request of French ministries and scholarly bodies, it carries out a number of important programmes which bring foreign scholars, particularly those who have completed a doctorate, to France.
The "Clemens Heller" programme, on the other hand, which started in 2003, aims to increase the mobillity of young French scholars who wish to carry out research in Germany, especially those with projects that go beyond the more usual German studies. Thus stipends are offered by the "Clemens Heller" programme to young French scholars in the fields of sociology, politics, anthropology and certain areas of history for visits of between three to nine months to carry out research at academic institutions in Germany.
